Did you know that there was a waterless toilet you could use that will allow you to "recycle waste" in a whole new way? It may seem humorous but the people using these home-made or ordered online toilet receptacles are very serious about its use. The collected waste is taken out of the unit which is designed with a normal toilet lid affixed to a wooden box assembly mimicking the normal toilet bowl section. Instead of catching waste in the bowl itself, a bucket is secured inside the unit to catch waste and the unit opens up to allow you to remove the bucket (make sure you wear a mask as the smell is not pleasant!).
This is an important part of a compost pile you can make and the resulting compost can be used to give your grass, soil, and any plant life nutrients it can use to thrive and grow healthy from. Compost is a lot like vitamins we take, only this is for soil rejuvenation. Soil uses up nutrients and once they are all extracted, without some system in place to replenish them (i.e. worms) soil can become used up. By adding compost to your soil you can replenish it and it will give you crop after crop successfully. You can build your own composting toilet at home very easily by grabbing some parts at the hardware store. You will need enough wood to construct a box around a standard bucket (feed buckets or those large pain buckets work best, you can purchase these at the hardware store unused as well. You want to make sure your bucket is the right size for the box your building. You essentially just build a toilet sized box, leave a center space to put the bucket and add some form of bracket to hold the bucket in place if necessary. The top part of the box needs a round hole cut into it that is just the right size to fit the bottom portion of the toilet seat over it with plenty of room to support your weight. Other than that, the box is just a basic box with a top peice that has a hole in it to mount the toilet seat on it. Once that's done you will need to figure out where you want to put this contraption. Your best bet would be to create a small outhouse to put it in as far away from the house and breathing areas as possible.
